Gogala is the international rights manager of Mladinska knjiga (meaning "Books for Youth"), the biggest Slovenian publisher with more that 400 editions yearly. This is together with a smaller academic publishing house Cankarjeva zalozbam. They cover all content categories (fiction, non-fiction / children, adult). With very diverse sales channels (retail in the bookshops, direct, book-club, e-shop) they try to distribute their books as actively as possible. Gogala hopes to enlarge his network, mainly with Spanish and Portuguese-language publishers, and to offer some of his titles to international publishers. He would like to make a little focal point of buying/selling Slovenian rights.

It has an excellent reputation and presence in bookstores, libraries and education professionals. Its catalog includes over 4,500 published titles and each year publishes 250 more, with an 80% of original titles. It has three branches: Babalibri, in Italy; Moritz, in Germany; and Corimbo, in Spain. It is interested in familiarizing with FIL because of its importance professionally, internationally and in the Spanish-Portuguese markets. It hopes to find more publishers from the region in order to develop a stronger presence in the Spanish-, Portuguese- and Brazilian markets.

She is the Foreign Rights Manager of Lemniscaat, one of the oldest and most well known children's book publishers in Holland. Founded in 1963 and still independent, represents a unique, high quality list of authors and illustrators. Lemniscaat publishes a rich and internationally appealing collection. Award winning and picture books reflect the colorful and inspiring international heritage the Dutch, at the crossroads of Europe, are famous for. She hopes to meet publishers that cannot meet in other international book fairs. She also would like to get in contact with illustrators and authors to see what they make and produce.

Rodino is editor and foreign rights assistant at Alpha Test, one of the most successful independent publishing houses in Italy. The book catalogue is made of around 500 titles in study aid, school and career orientation, law, health, weather forecast, management, and entertainment. The Sironi Editore imprint has a catalogue of around 150 titles. Sironi also publishes contemporary fiction, Italian and in translation, both literary and commercial, and essays in music, history, writing. They are opening a new series for children and the plan is to work mainly with translation and in co-edition. She is looking to improve her Spanish language network, not only for the new series but also for the whole catalogue of the publisher.

The new Hungarian publishing house Libri Publishing was founded by Ákos Balogh, Bence Sárközy and Ádám Halmos, owner of the publishing house Nyitott Könyvmuhely. Eszter is the editor-in-chief. As the legal successor of the Nyitott Könyvmuhely, Libri Publishing is an open profile publishing house, offering contemporary Hungarian and international titles in non-fiction, commercial fiction and literary fiction, as well as children books, focusing on works which are of high cultural importance and investigate our society's key matters. Balázs would like to have more knowledge about Latin American and Spanish children literature and children book publishers, to establish direct contact with publishers and agencies, and let them know about Hungarian childrenbooks and authors/illustrators.

Tara Books is an independent worker-own publishing collective, directed by Gita Wolf. Established as a children's publishing house, they specialize in illustrate books that showcase the rich variety of folk and tribal art traditions within India. They have also become w ell-know for the books they make entirely by hand which are silkscreen printed and bounded at their fair-trade workshop in Chennail. They have established a reputation as a leading publisher of books that embrace their physicality and extend the boundaries of bookmaking. She appreciates the opportunity to look in depth at the books available from Spanish and South American publishers especially those who do not always attend book fairs such as Frankfurt and Bologna. Also likes to get to know and expand her interaction with authors and artists from Spanish speaking area.

Gloria is the Senior Rights and Acquisitions Manager of Shanghai 99 Readers Culture, one of the fastest growing publishing companies in China. On top of dealing with books and selecting titles for the Chinese market it also runs a book club, the biggest in China, an on line bookstore, and a literary magazine. Their titles range from literary fiction, commercial fiction, young adult and children's titles as well as non-fiction titles. Among these publications, roughly 60% are translations. She is looking to acquire Spanish language books to translate to Chinese, since FIL is biggest book fair in the Spanish language. To attend it can be a very special chance to strengthen our contact with Spanish language publishers and agents.

Ueberreuter is Austria`s biggest privately owned Publisher with 30 empoyees in Viena and 300 new titles per year, and Schülli is the Rights Director. The list focuses on children's literature. In addition, Ueberreuter offers a small fiction program for adults (fantasy and mystery thriller) and a non-fiction program for adults. In 2007 Ueberreuter bought Lapan Publishing in Germany. Lappan's list contains humor, cartoons and Picture books. She expects to get in touch with publishers in Latin America. They have hardly any contacts in the region and do not manage to establish new contacts or the right contacts: as they do not travel to Latin America at all, do not have personal nor direct contact.

Publishes picture books for children from 0 to 6 years. With their much experience with children, the editorial choices are made with children's emotions as primary criteria. Juliette is in charge of foreign rights. Kaléidoscope publishes Anthony Browne, who they are very close to. They are very loyal to their authors- their main goal is to support the authors and illustrators they believe in. By coming to Guadalajara, Quarini wants to be introduced to publishers she does not know and hopefully return to the FIL in future years. She already attends the Frankfurt and Bologna book fairs but feels that it is very important for lasting bonds. She would hope to create contacts in view of selling translation rights, but above all, she is interested in participating because we are constantly looking for new publishing houses and talents to work with.

Simon & Schuster is one of the "big six" publishers and publishes over 2,000 books a year across its various imprints, where Tripathi is Executive Editor. Atheneum Books for Young Readers is the literary imprint in the children's division and has published numerous Caldecott, Newbery, National Book Award and Printz award and honor winning books. She is looking to discover unique new voices to bring to the Atheneum list and is particular interested in publishing books that reflect the diversity in their readership. She is always searching for stories that reflect the experiences of minority characters or characters from the margins without relegating their stories to the category of "issue books". Having seen some of the illustrated children's books from the Spanish-speaking world, she is particularly hopeful about finding new illustrators.
