Reading Promoters Conference

fotografia The challenges of reading in the age of AI

At the Reading Promoters Conference of the Guadalajara International Book Fair (FIL) specialists from all over the world will share experiences and conceived projects, with the mission of spreading the passion for books and reading. To celebrate, we will dedicate three days in which we will chat and reflect on the new strategies to promote the reading habit in childhood, as an essential part of emotional and social development.

There is no doubt that, in recent years, the world of literature aimed at children has been enriched thanks to the joint work of writers, illustrators and publishers. Extraordinary stories are told through images, verses, stories and plays. And as the publishing world grows and reinvents itself, the work of the reading mediator faces more and more challenges.

How to create new generations of readers in an environment full of distractors? How to choose the right story? How to keep the interest of young minds accustomed to the brief and the immediate? These and other questions will be addressed by the professionals and specialists who, for this occasion, will meet in Guadalajara.

With the organization of the Reading Promoters Conference, the FIL Guadalajara reiterates its commitment to capitalize on the actions of different national and international institutions related to the training of reading promoters, with the aim to contribute to their professionalization and to the recognition of the reading mediator as a fundamental element of connection between the book and readers.

The Reading Promoters Conference of the FIL Guadalajara is sponsored by Fundación SM and has the collaboration of the Ministry of Culture of Jalisco, through the National Reading Rooms Program.
