The works of Nina Lykke (Norway, 1965), Norwegian author of short stories and novels, are full of sarcasm, humor, burlesque nuances and twisted stories.
Natural Cuases (Estado del malestar in Spanish by Gatopardo Ediciones, 2020), her most recent work, and the first one translated into Spanish, is a satire of the unbearable lightness of the middle class, from the eyes of a woman full of privileges, who lives in an idyllic world for many and, nevertheless, is constantly on the verge of a nervous breakdown.
Her works question paradise and the chaos that can be experienced in it. In them, she makes a criticism of society, the search for instant gratification and the constant feeling that, despite having everything, you never have enough.
