Ethics, transparency, and oversight in the use of AI
The use of artificial intelligence in content editing and production raises ethical challenges that go beyond technological innovation. One key issue is the need for transparency: should publishers disclose when a text has been generated or modified by AI, and how should this be communicated to readers? These questions drive the development of internal protocols and codes of conduct to guide the responsible use of such tools within the publishing process.
At the same time, the discussion extends into a more complex terrain: the cultural, ideological, or linguistic biases that AI models may reproduce or amplify. This panel will explore how to identify, mitigate, and monitor these risks, aiming to establish shared ethical standards that ensure a publishing practice that is fairer, more transparent, and respectful of diversity.
