He is a poet, teacher and narrator. He has a degree in Spanish language from the University of Tolima, and a master's degree in neuropsychology and education from the University of La Rioja, Spain; he is part of the National Network of Creative Writing, Relata-Literature, and the Colombian Academic Network of Higher Education Institutions Redlees.
Winner of the XLI Juan Ramón Jiménez Ibero-American Poetry Prize, Spain (2021). Juan Lozano y Lozano Poetry Prize, Ibagué, 2020. Finalist in the National Poetry Prize City of Bogotá, 2020. Winner of the IX Granajoven Poetry Prize, Granada, Spain (2018). Finalist in the 34th National Poetry Prize of the University of Antioquia, Colombia (2016). In 2024 he was the winner of the María Mercedes Carranza National Poetry Prize, with his poetry book Diario de un niño ceniza.
