The University of Guadalajara, through a project created by the Environmental Sciences Museum as part of the University’s Cultural Center, and with the support of the Guadalajara International Book Fair, has established the José Emilio Pacheco City and Nature Award. The prize, which will be given for the first time this year, will be dedicated to poetry. The winning author, who must write in Spanish and have at least ten unpublished poems or poems published in the last five years that are related to nature, urban sustainability, socio-ecological harmony and environmental conservation, will be given a purse of US $10,000. The award is dedicated to poet José Emilio Pacheco, whose work explores the duality between cities and nature.
Created by the University of Guadalajara, and with the collaboration of the National Institute for Indigenous Languages, the Culture Ministry, the National Commission for the Development of the Indigenous Cultures and Jalisco’s Department of Education, the American Indigenous Literature Award is granted to enrich, protect and promote the legacy and richness of Mexico’s indigenous peoples through literature in all its forms, and to and acknowledge and further develop the careers and works of indigenous authors. The award, which carries a purse of US $25,000, will be given for the fourth time at the 2016 FIL Guadalajara.
The SM Ibero-American Award for Literature for Children and Young People was implemented in 2005, the year of Ibero-American literature, with the goal of promoting literature for children and young people throughout Ibero-America. The award is given out each year during the Guadalajara International Book Fair to recognize writers of literature for children and young people and carries a purse of US $30,000.

With the goal of creating a network that helps to encourage the work of illustrators of books for children and young people in Ibero-America, the SM Foundation and the FIL Guadalajara invites illustrators to submit their work to be included in the Annual Ibero-American Illustration Catalog. The 45 works selected will be displayed in an exposition at the Guadalajara International Book Fair. In addition, illustrators will have the opportunity to work on an illustrated book with Ediciones SM and the winner will be given US $5,000. Approaching the Spanish-Language Publishing Industry to Audio Formats
The 2024 Audio FIL Forum is a space for bringing the Spanish-language publishing industry closer to audio formats. With an extensive program, we propose interdisciplinary discussions through panels and exhibitions featuring globally recognized experts in various audio specialties.
In light of the rapid evolution of the audio industry, this edition of the Audio Forum aims to be a meeting point for professionals focused on the creation, production, distribution, and expansion of Spanish-language audio content. We facilitate information exchange, networking, experiences, business opportunities, and strategies among our experts, companies, and invited audience.
This forum is designed for the interests of various stakeholders in both traditional and digital publishing with prior knowledge or seeking an initial approach to audio formats: editors, authors, consultants, audio distribution and consumption platforms, digital distributors, rights agencies, industry associations, broadcasters, production studios, creators, and professionals.

Estefanía Rosas-Priego
Estefanía Rosas-Priego Bustos has two careers that complement each other in surprising ways. She studied Biology at the University of Guadalajara and later Management and Administration of SMEs at UNAM. If you add to that the fact that she grew up in a family dedicated to printed literature, you find someone who has brought a completely fresh vision to the world of audio content. In addition to being Head of Audiobooks at Pedro Y El Lobo Studios, she is CEO of Chicas Ruidosas.
Chicas Ruidosas is an audio production company based in Mexico City, dedicated to creating creative and exceptional experiences. We offer specialized services for a wide range of audio projects. From planning, recording, mixing, to mastering and post-production, our hallmark is to deliver the highest quality sound to our clients to make their stories resonate. We live with a passion for storytelling through audio and specialise in co-creating original content such as engaging podcasts, as well as producing audiobooks for renowned clients such as Storytel, Audible and Scribd (Everand). Manuel Meza. For the last two years, he has been responsible for the literature area of Santillana and for the last year, he has been responsible for all the company's products in Mexico. His entire career, inside and outside of Santillana, has been dedicated to understanding and revolutionizing the publishing markets in which he operates. His conviction is that if we change the consumer culture, we can change the way we think about the medium.

Eric Dabdoub
Eric Dabdoub is the CEO of John Marshall Media LATAM, and has more than 15 years of experience in the audiobook world. In the audio and recording industry, he has combined his passion for audio and curiosity about entrepreneurship to create studios and companies. Graduated from Berklee College of Music in Boston, fate led him to work in New York, where he gradually became immersed in the world of audiobooks, starting as an engineer/editor, moving on to become a director and then winning his first awards, Audies, Earphone Awards, among others. At the same time, he had the idea of founding John Marshall Media LATAM in partnership with John Marshall Cheary, and, as they say, the rest is history. Today he is the leader of a team of more than 65 people specialized in the production of audiobooks. With an intact curiosity and passion for producing the best audiobooks possible, there is nothing that makes him more proud than seeing his team grow day by day, redefining excellence in the audiobook industry.

audiolibre is a Mexican audio publishing company founded in 2023. With an experienced team that has developed hundreds of audiobooks and an audio-first vision, it is dedicated to the creation and management of audio catalogs, production and distribution of audiobooks in Spanish, focused on the Mexican and North American markets.
