The University of Guadalajara, through a project created by the Environmental Sciences Museum as part of the University’s Cultural Center, and with the support of the Guadalajara International Book Fair, has established the José Emilio Pacheco City and Nature Award. The prize, which will be given for the first time this year, will be dedicated to poetry. The winning author, who must write in Spanish and have at least ten unpublished poems or poems published in the last five years that are related to nature, urban sustainability, socio-ecological harmony and environmental conservation, will be given a purse of US $10,000. "Short forms"
Three generations of resilient storytellers and a heroic editor will join forces in this conversation to try to paint a current picture of the short form, unfairly and unjustifiably regarded as the black sheep of literature. What Borges would say in this case we can't know, but we will be able to hear the insights of Clara Obligado, Ismael Ramos and Eloy Tizón, writers who have dedicated their work to the story genre, and of editor Juan Casamayor. Not only will they talk to us about their most recent works, but also about the tradition of short stories, a veritable laboratory of formal and thematic experimentation (realist, fantasy, crime, political, etc.)
Participants: Clara Obligado, Ismael Ramos, Eloy Tizón
Moderator: Juan Casamayor
