Translators

With more than 550 million speakers, Spanish is one of the most spoken and important languages in the world. There is huge demand for content in Spanish and business opportunities for translators at FIL are found not only in literature, but also in academic textbooks, general publications, journals, or children’s and young adults’ books.

At the Fair you will find colleagues who meet each year to share their experience, and attend various professional development activities. You will also find a range of books in other languages such as English, French, German, Italian and Portuguese.

Dates and times of professionals

December Monday 1 st, Tuesday 2nd and Wednesday 3rd, from 9:00 to 17:00.

Registration fee:

  • From February 17th to September 5th: 980 Mexican pesos
  • From September 6th to November 6th: 1250 Mexican pesos
  • Online payments: (Visa and MasterCard only)

Upon registration, you will receive:

  • A badge to access the event during the 9 days of the Fair and exclusive access to the days and times of Professionals.
  • Publication of your data in the online Contacts’ Catalog.
  • Participation in the training programs of your interest.
  • Access to the work tables and services of the Business Center.

To make the most of your visit, we suggest:

  1. Register before September 5th to obtain 3 nights of accommodation, courtesy of FIL (under availability, not guaranteed).
  2. Check the various online catalogs and start your agenda starting September 30.
  3. Check the general program of events and reserve a space in your agenda for the activities of your interest. Attending the events allows you to learn about the tastes of readers and better understand the trends of the Ibero-American market.

When you arrive at the FIL:

  • Please go to the Preregistration Module located at the International Area entry to receive your badge and your welcome kit.

If you participated in the 2024 edition, you don’t need to initiate the application process. Simply enter your username and password to update your information and make the payment.
