Biography
Margo Glantz (Mexico City, 1930) is a Mexican writer, essayist, and academic. She holds a PhD in Letters from the University of Paris (La Sorbonne) and has been a professor at UNAM since 1958, where she was named professor emerita. She is a full member of the Mexican Academy of Language. Her extensive work spans literary creation and critical essay, with particular attention to Mexican literature and figures such as Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz. She has received important recognitions, including the Xavier Villaurrutia Prize and the Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz Prize, and is one of the most influential intellectuals in contemporary Mexican literature.
