Biography


Tomás Segovia (Valencia, 1927) was a poet, narrator, essayist, and translator who developed a large part of his work in Mexico after emigrating during the Franco dictatorship. His poetry, centered on love and in dialogue with the European tradition, includes titles such as La luz provisional and Anagnórisis. He also published narrative and essays, collaborated in literary magazines, and was a professor at UNAM and at Princeton. As a translator, he brought to Spanish-language audiences French authors and poets such as Nerval, Hugo, Breton, and Rilke.
