Biography
Nélida Piñón (Rio de Janeiro, 1937) was a distinguished Brazilian writer and professor at universities in Brazil and the United States. Her work, characterized by narrative rigor and dialogue with Ibero-American cultural traditions, includes titles such as La república de los sueños, La fuerza del destino, and Vozes do deserto. She received numerous awards, including the Prince of Asturias Award for Literature, the Mario de Andrade Award, and the Jorge Isaacs Ibero-American Narrative Award, as well as international honorary distinctions.
