Publishing Merit Award

There have been great publishers between the manuscript and the reader; some even put their stamp on volumes and collections that influenced vast generations. The Publishing Merit Award was instituted by the FIL in honor of the Argentine Arnaldo Orfila Reynal —who in Mexico was director of the Fondo de Cultura Económica and founder of Siglo XXI Editores— with the intention of highlighting the vision and craft of this fundamental figure in the world of books. The verdict is the responsibility of an international committee composed of the editors recognized in previous years.
