Echoes of FIL

Year after year, young students of the high schools of the University of Guadalajara system have the opportunity to sit down in their own schools with writers visiting the Guadalajara International Book Fair.

The Echoes of FIL program —organized by the Diffusion and Extension Coordination of the High School System of the University of Guadalajara and the Guadalajara International Book Fair— has the purpose of fostering the habit of reading among students through casual and friendly conversations with authors. In this way, reading is enriched with the added motivation of meeting the creators.

Authors participating in Echoes of FIL are all part of the Fair’s activities program. They attend facilities both in the Guadalajara metropolitan area, as well as those around the state of Jalisco.

It is fundamental to highlight the work of the teachers, as they carry out a work of induction to the work of the authors through their daily teachings in the classrooms, which guarantees the success of the program.
