Regulations for Participation in the Rights Center
These regulations apply only to participants registered at the Rights Center. The FIL Organizing Committee will be in charge of any other issues.
By registering or paying the registration fee for the Guadalajara International Book Fair, participants confirm that they have read these regulations. The Organizing Committee will resolve any unforeseen aspects, and its decision will be final.
For these regulations, the terms used will be understood according to the following definitions:
FIL: The Productive entity of the University of Guadalajara called the Guadalajara International Book Fair.
Event: Exhibition called the Guadalajara International Book Fair or FIL, organized by the University of Guadalajara.
Organizing Committee: The internal team of the FIL, responsible for organizing the event.
Expo: Expo Guadalajara, Fairgrounds.
Participant: Persons in the publishing industry, such as rights agents, editors, literary scouts, rights officers for publishers, and translation support institutes, attending the Guadalajara International Book Fair to do business and participate in Professional activities.
Rights Center: This area is intended for carrying out copyright transactions. It has work tables previously acquired by companies interested in this type of negotiation.

The Rights Center is reserved exclusively for rights agents, literary scouts, translation support institutes, and publishers' rights officers. They seek to negotiate the purchase and sale of rights with companies from different language markets, such as Spanish, English, Italian, French, Portuguese, and Korean, among others.
Participants wishing to reserve a table in the Rights Center must do so based on availability and make the corresponding payment. The rates are as follows:

This space will be available from Sunday, November 30th to Wednesday, December 3rd: from 9:00 to 19:00 hours.
Pre-registration payments can be made in the following ways:
As per official regulations, participants residing in Mexico who require an invoice must send the updated Constancia de Situación Fiscal issued by the SAT, valid at the time of payment and no older than three months. This document must be sent to jazmin.orozco@fil.com.mx within a maximum of five days after registration. This is necessary to properly process the invoice and ensure compliance with current tax regulations.
Once the invoice has been requested and issued, no modifications are allowed. Also, a single invoice will be issued for each payment receipt, including all related items.
During the fair, any inquiries regarding pending tax receipts can be made at the invoicing office located within the Business Center. The deadline for invoice claims is December 26, 2025. Once payment has been made, no refund will be possible.
If a participant cancels their professional registration, FIL Guadalajara will refund the corresponding percentage, as indicated in the following table, based on the cancellation date. The refund will be processed via electronic transfer to the account of the professional or company that made the payment.

a) Activities
During the designated days, professionals will have access to exclusive activities such as conferences, workshops, business meetings, and specialized events designed to foster interaction among key players in the publishing industry.
It is recommended to visit the Professional Training section on the website to identify activities that require an additional fee or specific registration.
b) Business Center
The Business Center is an exclusive space for exhibitors and registered professionals. Anyone wearing their accreditation will have access to the center and the following services:
a) Table Assignment
Participants can choose their preferred table by selecting it on the floor plan, which will be accessible to all participants in the Rights Center through the online registration system. The tables will be clearly marked with a sign displaying the company's name. Once the participant obtains their badge, the space staff will accompany them to their table and provide the keys to their locker.
b) Participation Rules
As part of the benefits for registered participants, attendees will be able to consult the online Rights Center Catalog, which will include the contact information of all participants registered for the FIL in the current year.
This catalog will be available, to help the participants generate business, contact potential counterparties, and explore collaboration opportunities within the publishing industry. The information listed includes:
The above information will be taken from the Rights Center participant's registration request, and it will be published in the aforementioned catalog for networking purposes. The style of the information complies with the capture and writing standards established by the FIL.
If you do not want to appear in the catalog, you must notify Jazmin Orozco at jazmin.orozco@fil.com.mx in writing, before September 30th, 2025.
Accommodation will be provided for participants who register under the table plus accommodation option.
The FIL Organizing Committee will cover three nights of accommodation in the hotels designated by the professional area. Under no circumstances the number of complimentary nights can be increased. The dates and hotels will be determined by FIL, subject to availability and approval by the Organizing Committee, with no possibility of change. Any additional nights requested will be subject to availability and must be paid directly to the hotel. Any change of dates must be reported in writing, before September 12th, to the following email: jazmin.orozco@fil.com.mx. After this date, any cancellation will incur the full charge for the reserved stay. In all of the above cases, the hotel will charge the credit card provided as a guarantee for the reservation.
A credit card with an expiration date after January 2026 is required to secure the hotel reservation. Before the start of the fair, the hotel will verify that the card is valid and contains the correct information as a guarantee.
If the participant does not check in on the assigned date, the hotel will charge for one night as a no-show fee, plus the total cost of the other reserved nights. Additionally, if the participant checks out earlier than the scheduled date, the full amount for the reserved nights will still be charged.
This is the official document that confirms professional registration for FIL. It contains key dates, details regarding badge pickup, and information about complimentary accommodations, if applicable.
The badges will be handed out starting on Saturday, November 29th from 9:00 to 19:00 hours. To receive your accreditation, you must present your confirmation letter in physical or digital format at the Reception of the Rights Center, located inside the Business Center, International Area, Expo Guadalajara.
a) Badge Usage
If a participant misuses their badge, it will be confiscated, and their participation in FIL may be canceled, for the current and future editions. Misuse includes lending or selling the badge.
b) Lost badge
In the event of a lost badge, it can be replaced once at the Pre-registration Module during the established dates and times. After that, the replacement fee for a lost badge is 980 Mexican pesos.
a) Personal Items
Participants are responsible for the care and safekeeping of their personal belongings. In the event of damage, loss, or destruction, FIL and the Organizing Committee are not liable.
b) Safety Measure
Participants must comply with the safety measures set by the Expo and the Organizing Committee to ensure a safe environment for all fair visitors.
c) Exhibition Center Facilities
Expo Guadalajara is authorized to establish, modify, and enforce rules for the use and security of the exhibition center. The Organizing Committee is not responsible for any restrictions or limitations by the venue on the property or its equipment. Also, participants must comply with these rules:
Any damage caused by failure to comply with these rules must be covered by the responsible participant, as determined by the Organizing Committee.
