Leonardo Vázquez

Typographer trained at the Atelier National en Recherche Typographique (ANRT) in Nancy, France.
Master in Critical Theory from 17.org, Founder of the Mexican Typography Association, Creator of the Wikitype type classification system, board member of ATypI (Association Typographique Internationale), and currently Coordinator of the Editorial Design Specialization at the Design School of INBA.

His career as a typographer spans nearly two decades.
Among his typefaces are: Señal México, designed for Mexican highways; Lectura, for the publishing house Artes de México; and Algarabía, for the magazine of the same name.

For Leonardo, editorial craft is like a dish to be savored from the planning stage onward. The editorial ingredients are always top-notch: the paper, which defines the format; the planning of the layout and its functional precision; and the main ingredient, typography, which provides structure, emphasis, and the pleasure of reading—followed by the endpapers and finally the cover. Slowly and without haste, the book is crafted, page by page, savored and enjoyed.

Leonardo has had the good fortune to work with various private publishers, government institutions, and NGOs. He is always in search of editorial challenges where he can prepare new formulas with ingredients that leave the editorial diner satisfied—or eager for more.

Manuel Guerrero

Mexican Graphic Designer, Master of Habitat Sciences from the Autonomous University of San Luis Potosí, and PhD in Architecture, Design, and Urbanism from the Autonomous University of the State of Morelos. He is currently a research professor at the Faculty of Habitat of the Autonomous University of San Luis Potosí, where he conducts research in the field of visual perception. His work focuses on studies of typographic visual perception and the reading process using eye-trackers, as well as studies related to the theory and methods applied to type design.

In 2009, he received the Certificate of Excellence in Type Design awarded by the Type Directors Club of New York, and in 2010, he was nominated for the Prize of Prizes Design Award, an honor granted by the German government. That same year, he also received a Certificate of Excellence at the Fourth Latin American Typography Biennial, Tipos Latinos.

He has given lectures on experimental typography at national and international events such as TEDx, Palermo, Bienal de Letras Latinas, La Letra Ilustra, ProDiseño, Punto GIF, Pasión y Diseño, Tipografilia, VisualFest, Bienal del Cartel Bolivia, Tipografía México, Creative Mornings, SIGNU Ecuador, and Typographics Type Lab.
