Paula Gicovate

 

 

Paula Gicovate was born in Campos dos Goytacazes in 1985 and has been living in Rio de Janeiro since 2004. Paula Gicovate studied Literature/Writing training at PUC- Rio and is a writer and screenwriter for film and TV.

Red Globo Editor and creator and screenwriter of the television series Só Garotas (“Just Girls” which has been compared to the American Girls and Sex and the City), Este é um livro sobre amor (This is a book about love) is her first novel. When asked about the autobiographical, confessional, nature of her story, the author responded: All of us are ELLA, or at least part of us. In a way, ELLA is a tribute to all the women and all the men of our lives.

Este é um livro sobre amor (This is a book about love), her third book and first novel was published by Editora Guarda-Chuva, and translated and published by Maresia Libros in Spain, where she was considered a revelation as an author. Before came the books (Sobre o tudo que transborda) Everything that overflows and D4, consisting of short stories and poems, besides participation in diverse compilations of fiction. In 2015 she was selected for a creative writing residency in Barcelona, and is currently writing her fourth book on love.
